Common questions

How do I put a widget on my Home Screen?

Save at least one design in the app first. Then go to your Home Screen, touch and hold an empty spot, tap + in the corner, find Duo Themes and add the widget. Finally touch and hold the widget you just added, choose Edit Widget, and pick your design.

My widget shows the wrong design

Touch and hold the widget, choose Edit Widget, and select the design again from the list.

I edited a design but the widget did not change

iOS batches widget refreshes to save battery, so a change can take a few minutes to appear. To force it, open the More tab in the app and tap Refresh widgets.

The clock only moves once a minute

Widgets on iOS do not run continuously, so they cannot tick seconds in real time. Turning off "Show seconds" keeps the display from looking out of step.

The photo in my widget looks blurry

Pick a photo that is at least 1200 pixels on its long edge. Photos are scaled down before they reach the widget so it stays inside the memory budget iOS gives widgets.

Can Duo Themes change the icons of my other apps?

Not directly — iOS does not allow any app to do that. The Icon tab creates an icon image and saves it to Photos, then walks you through applying it with Apple's Shortcuts app, which is the route Apple supports. The shortcut opens the app through Shortcuts, so it can take a moment longer than tapping the original icon.

Where are my wallpapers saved?

Into your photo library, at your device's own resolution. Set one as your wallpaper from Photos, or from Settings › Wallpaper.

Do I lose my designs if I delete the app?

Yes. Designs live only on your device and are removed with the app. Nothing is stored on a server, so there is no copy for us to restore.
